Auckland Wedding Photographer

New Zealand based

Hey, I’m Kenny! Originally from Palmerston North, I’m now based in Auckland, New Zealand. My creative journey started in graphic design, but somewhere along the way, photography stole my heart. What began as a bit of creative curiosity has grown into a full-time passion, and honestly, I can’t imagine putting my camera down anytime soon! For me, photography is like a game with no level cap, there’s always something new to learn, new ideas to explore, and ways to keep improving.

Wedding photography is something I especially love. no two weddings are ever the same, every couple has their own story, and every wedding comes with its own little moments, emotions, and surprises. Being able to capture these once in a lifetime memories in a way that feels natural, honest, and creative is what makes this job so rewarding. I started my photography journey in 2014, and along the way, I’ve been fortunate enough to receive recognition in photography competitions and have my work featured across various social media platforms.

MY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE

If I had to describe my style, I’d say it’s a mix of imaginative, elegant, artistic, moody, warm, and soft, with a touch of that timeless film look blended with modern digital feel. I love capturing genuine, candid moments, so I take a relaxed, documentary style approach to wedding photography. Rather than constantly directing you or asking you to pose, I prefer to blend into the background and let things unfold naturally. That way, you and your guests can relax, enjoy the day, and be yourselves while I capture all the little moments that make your wedding uniquely yours.

At heart, I’m a creative who loves experimenting with light, depth, reflections, and different perspectives to create something a little more artistic. I’m always looking for those little details and unexpected moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. My goal isn’t just to take beautiful photos, but to create images that bring you right back to how the day felt — the laughter, the happy tears, the little glances, and all the moments in between. Because years down the track, I want you to look through your photos and feel those memories all over again.

What I Believe

The best images happen between control and chaos, the movement, tension, emotions, strong light, contrasts, and moments that only exist for a second.

Ever since I started my photography hobby photography in the streets I’m drawn to people with presence.

Learnt how to shoot in a  compositional way

That’s the energy I naturally look for in my work.

"The camera doesn’t take great photos, the photographer does. The camera is a blank canvas, and the photographer’s vision is the paint and brushes that bring it to life."

I just made this shit up but its true

Kenny’s photography is truly magical and full of warmth! The moment I saw his portfolio, I fell in love with his style, and we are beyond happy that he was able to capture our special day. He has such a relaxed, easygoing presence that made us really comfortable in front of the camera. Thank you for creating beautiful memories for us :) We really can't recommend him enough!

We can’t recommend Kenny enough. Kenny was incredibly approachable, enthusiastic, and easy to work with. His unique ability to tell a story and capture the feelings and emotions of the day through his photos was one of the main things that drew us to Kenny, and is often a point our guests comment on. Looking back at these photos allows us to relive the day and capture those feelings again. For the photos themselves, we appreciated the eye for detail, clever and beautiful framing, and great use of aperture.

Kenny was our amazing, professional, talented, wedding photographer. He captured the most beautiful photos, words can't describe how much they mean to us of the day shared - a day which now feels more as we look over the stunning photos.

Kenny listened to what was important to us and shared his talented eye to bring out the best of our day, he shared prompt communication from our first emails, supported smooth timings on the day, and surprised with early return of photos (on Christmas, such special timing). Kenny shared his calm presence on our day and beautifully matched the vibe our our day and those we shared it with, we can't recommend him enough.

A few things about me

Dog dad to Pepper

Called by many names but most popular would be the sausage dog, she a ginger sausie, pic provided.

into cars

OLD SCHOOL JDM'S ARE SOME FINE WINE, dream car is probably an mazda FD rx7.

Analog Film camera's

Am a collector of analog film camera's, the retro look and the feel hits different to using digital camera's, often shooting only film in my out and about daily life, and to be honest half a roll of film is probably pepper as she's quite a model.
