Should you hire a wedding videographer?
Is it worth it?

Auckland Wedding Videographer

You've hired most vendors on your wedding checklist, but maybe there's one you're questioning: Is it necessary to have a videographer as well? I think many assume it's an unnecessary cost, but in my opinion as a wedding photographer and videographer it’s well worth it. I see many people booking videographers that’s half the price of a photographer and believe me as a hybrid shooter myself I actually believe videography is rather undervalued with the amount of equipments they bring and the time to curate a visually appealing story to you, it should cost just as much as your photographer, if not more.

Having a professional wedding videographer on the scene give you a different perspective into your wedding that a single photograph can’t give you. A minute worth of footage totals to 1440 worth of photo’s.

Below are some reason’s that may help you decide.

1. Wedding videographer’s are not what you think it’s like.

Throw out the idea that a wedding videographer means being on a movie set all day and night long with very big cinema camera’s, a massive crew of 10 that’ll you’ll also have to feed later on that night or have a microphone over your head whenever you’re talking. Today's videographers embrace a more documentary style of filming, run and gun style, where light and portable equipments would most likely be used and it would far from looking like a movie set. A videographer would probably bring what your photographer would bring with only a few more equipment like audio recorder’s and perhaps some lighting equipment.

2. Video captures sounds that your photos can't.

A substantial reason why you should hire a wedding videographer? Video captures audio and is vital to highlight videos capturing your MC, family, Friend’s roasting you guys like there’s no tomorrow and of course the emotional moments like saying your vow’s.

3. Video captures movements.

Yes you probably know this and this is something a photographer will not be able to supply to you but in single still frames.

4. Wedding videos are not hour-long sagas.

Your videographer will simply capture the best of the day’s collated and packaged into an engaging 3-7mins of pure goodness memories. Videographers are creative’s and would like to create a highlight video for you than to walk around with a camera filing everything then supplying you hours long video.

5. Many different videographer’s with different style for you to choose.

Many videographer’s will have real actual wedding highlight video’s for you to view on their website like mine, you’ll be able to see their style and I’m sure there would be a videographer that would suit your tastes.

6. Wedding videos are easily shareable

There may be some family/friends that wouldn’t be able to make it a wedding video is something you could share with them. It could be loaded to your facebook, youtube etc. Videographers often load them to online for you to view/download anyways and you could always share that link with your family/friends.
