Auckland engagement shoot locations
These are the locations I have personally did a photoshoot around Auckland. I’m generally attracted to areas with water and nature, lovely photo’s could be taken anywhere these are just some suggestions on locations that may help you decide for your photography session.
Muriwai Beach
Muriwai beach along with other beaches out west are a classic, home to a colony of gannets if lucky you may have a few birds flying in your background, soft black sands. As with other beaches there would be people relaxing, playing at the beach, and photographers capturing the beautiful scenery of Muriwai.
Piha Beach
Piha beach, also another beach out west is also great, I believe this beach is more popular option for people to go to during the hot summer season. Many rocks you could climb there is a particular rock called the lions rock. There is also a waterfall nearby which would compliment or as a standalone photoshoot in the area too.
Bethell’s beach
One of the quieter beaches out west. Requires to cross a small stream. Also located near Bethells Beach is Lake Wainumu (commonly called Bethells Lake), Bethells Cave, and O’Neils Bay. With all these stunning sites to see you certainly won’t be disappointed.
Karekare beach
This is an attractive beach reached through a steep valley. Require to cross a small creek to actually get to the beach, very close to Karekare waterfall in the area which would compliment to the shoot.
Hunua Falls
Waterfalls make a good backdrop rather small, due to the dieback disease it’s rather hard to get to visit a lot of the waterfalls. Hunua falls is easy to get to without much walking rather small but there is enough in the area to have amazing pics.
Shakespear Reserve
This reserve has hills, sheeps and a beach. It’s not the best of any but certainly will deliver a variety of images in a very close proximity.
